V: Well, hello, compatriots.
V: How are the two of you? Either of you realized how absolutely wretched this place is yet?
W: Vigil, is it? Come now, Provenance is not so poor a place.
V: Yes it is, when you know your people are at war and your family stands in the face of danger. Yes it is, when your role in the war is left unfulfilled. Yes it is, when your very people may be suffering annihilation as we speak. I don’t know where you come from, but I can guarantee that if you think a second more than nothing of your home, you will realize that our presence here is a degradation and a travesty!
W: I may have things to do… but while I’m here, I’m going to do what I can here.
Actually I wasn’t doing much back home.
V: I have done likewise. I won’t be staying here long, if I have to bring down the throne of our “Patron.” Even if I have to Deny Reality itself to do so!
V: If you would be so kind, I would ask that you declare yourselves using the system I designed for that purpose for future visits. For now, I would prefer that the grounds are cleared. I’m working on denying its existence.
V: But really, this place is really dangerous if you just keep sitting around on my front step.
W: We were leaving anyway… come on Bits.
V: I suppose I ought to apologize for my behavior as well…
B: How about you apologize by joining us? I’ve been meaning to meet you for a week now.
V: Is this entirely necessary?
B: Yes. You are coming to my library.
B: Discussion closed.
