41. From Vigil’s Log:
This Patron bloke began lecturing us on our stay at Provenance. I have categorically no concern for a word of it. He said he had relegated some areas for our “individual refinement and rest.” I don’t know about these other people who have landed in this scenario, but I intend wholly to do the opposite. I will not serve the purposes of Patron, not so long as he holds me here when my homeland burns. I don’t even know if my family lives… if my army is whole…
I resolve to deny Patron. I shall study for any method that might permit me to deny him so, when he is clearly master of this realm. If he prepared me a mansion, then it shall be mine, and none shall enter save they have a fantastic cause. My life shall henceforth be devoted to my escape, with or without Patron.
Provenance shall never be a place I consider home.
((Mod Notes: For ease of reading, I intend to write Bios for each character as they are introduced and add a summary page, so that people can rapidly catch up if they don’t want to read the historical posts (which I can’t really blame them for.))
Speed is not always of the essence.
Purpose is a much stronger substitution.
((Smaller text? Yes. It works nicely. Also, Peponi needs to get better at leaving out any mention of any semblance of a political system around Skytrot. Which is a simple thing, considering they are on errand for the monarchy, practically part of its air force, and frequently called upon by them. I mentioned it awhile ago, but for those who missed it, this is set 20 or so years post ex FIM.))
Here’s the next batch! It’s looking like I’ll have to turn out another on to cover everyone.
Finally, there’s Fruino, Kage, and Bloomberg, while Time Turner is thinking something along the lines of “You’re a tree, Bloomberg. Stop doing things like eavesdropping,” while Bloomberg telepathically reprimands him for being so close-minded.
The awkward thing about follower posts is that is when your follower count increases faster than average, and you feel obligated to make posts for them, but that would set you into an eternal cycle of follower posts with no blog-related content… Even though I’m at 135 now, I’ll probably wait until 150 for the newest among you.
I’ve created worlds
demons and champions
and you, Bits,
your life is boring
yet, you matter
which is why your rapture will be expedited
((These end comments are more than just psuedo-poetry; they’re significant like the quotes in any Brandon Sanderson book))
